These terms and conditions apply to services set out by Academic Plus Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with Company Number 15249047.

This agreement commences once students have enrolled and accepted the enrolment process.
1) Definitions
1.1 In these terms and conditions:
“Academic Plus Ltd” refers to Academic Plus Ltd, hereinafter known as “Academic Plus,” “we,” or “our.”
“Website” pertains to Academic Plus Ltd’s official website.
“Lesson Fee” designates the cost of each lesson, including both the Tutor Fee and Academic Plus Ltd’s Service Fee.
“Package Fee”, designates the cost of each package, including both the Tutor Fee and Academic Plus Ltd’s Service Fee.
“Stripe” signifies Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.
“Tutor” refers to an individual providing educational services on the Academic Plus Ltd platform.
“Student” denotes an individual or their parent/guardian contracting a Tutor for educational services on the Academic Plus Ltd platform.
2) Intellectual Property
2.1 These terms and conditions are established to regulate the utilisation of intellectual property within the Academic Plus Ltd framework. By enrolling in our courses and engaging with our services, you agree to comply with the stipulations specified herein.
2.2 All ‘Intellectual Property’ notifications and limitations found on any Academic Plus Ltd website, whether originating directly from Academic Plus Ltd or provided by third-party sources, must be observed and respected by enrolled students and tutors.
2.3 The Intellectual Property Rights associated with our services, course materials (both physical and e-learning formats), and content delivered through our platform are the exclusive property of Academic Plus Ltd or its accrediting organisations.
2.4 Academic Plus Ltd extends access to electronic and physical resources for the sole purpose of aiding students in their academic studies. Such access is granted strictly for personal use.
2.5 Constraints on Usage: Students, Parents, and Tutors are explicitly prohibited from:
(i) Reproducing, modifying, selling, uploading, broadcasting, posting, transmitting, distributing, creating derivative works, or engaging in any activity that infringes upon the Intellectual Property rights associated with our course materials.
(ii) Recording or transmitting any aspect of our services.
(iii) Employing the course materials in the provision of any other course or training, whether facilitated by Academic Plus Ltd or any third-party instructor.
(iv) Removing any copyright or other notices belonging to Academic Plus Ltd from the course materials.
(v) Utilising the provided resources for any form of commercial application.
2.6 Academic Plus Ltd courses or materials are expressly not intended for redistribution or resale under the conditions specified in these terms and conditions.
2.7 The regulations concerning intellectual property presented by Academic Plus Ltd are supplementary to the general Terms and Conditions of the company. Any violations of these terms may result in legal action. We reserve the right to uphold our rights and pursue appropriate remedies for any infringements of our intellectual property rights.
2.8 Please note that the terms and conditions provided herein govern the usage of intellectual property within the Academic Plus Ltd platform, and all users are expected to adhere to them.
3) Cancellation
3.1 A student may withdraw a booking at any time before the scheduled commencement of a lesson.
3.2 A student is permitted to cancel a lesson by discontinuing the corresponding booking through communication with Academic Plus Ltd on the website or via direct communication with the tutor, such as messages, phone calls or Discord.
3.3 Cancellations made 12 hours or more before the scheduled start of a lesson will not incur any charges.
3.4 If a booking is cancelled by a student or parent within less than 12 hours before the lesson’s scheduled start, the lesson will be recorded as attended, and the student will lose that lesson, with no refunds. However, the tutor’s discretion to approve the cancellation request and waive the lesson will be considered.
3.8 Tutors have the authority to cancel a booking at any time before the lesson takes place. To do so, tutors must directly notify the student and/or parent. If the reason for cancellation suggests that the tutor is not cancelling on behalf of the student, the student will not be charged any lesson fee or, if the student has already paid the lesson fee, will receive a full refund on that session.
3.9 Bookings cannot be cancelled after the lesson has commenced. Unattended lessons that have not been cancelled by the student prior to the start time will be charged at the full price with no refund. In cases involving exceptional circumstances surrounding the cancellation of the lesson, a full refund may be granted at the tutor’s and Academic Plus Ltd’s discretion.
4) Tutor Responsibilities
4.1 Tutor Eligibility
(i) Tutors applying to work with Academic Plus Ltd must be a minimum of eighteen years old.
(ii) Tutors must possess the required qualifications and experience to provide tuition in the subjects they specify on the Academic Plus Ltd platform.
(iii) Accuracy, currency, and truthfulness of information in the tutor’s profile and subject details are the tutor’s responsibility.
(iv) Tutors are required to have the legal right to work as self-employed individuals in the UK.
4.2 Tutors must obtain parental or guardian consent when providing tuition services to students under the age of 18.
4.3 All tuition fees should be transacted exclusively through the Academic Plus Ltd platform. Any external payments are strictly prohibited.
4.4 Tutors are accountable for the accuracy and up-to-date nature of the information they provide on the Academic Plus Ltd platform.
4.5 Tutors shall indemnify Academic Plus Ltd against all claims and liabilities resulting from their use of the platform.
4.6 Tutors should acknowledge their status as self-employed professionals and accept full responsibility for Income Tax, National Insurance, and other related obligations.
4.7 Tutors are strictly prohibited from undertaking coursework, essays, or assignments on behalf of students. Tutors are exclusively permitted to proofread assignments or coursework of students with whom they’ve had regular lessons.
4.8 All tutoring sessions must be scheduled through the Academic Plus Ltd platform.
4.9 Tutors must adhere to the agreed-upon schedule for tutoring sessions and show up on time. Failure to do so may require a refund to the student.
4.10 In cases of payment disputes, accounts may be temporarily suspended while the issue is under review.
4.11 Tutors should be aware that Academic Plus Ltd will not be responsible for any loss of earnings, including technical issues on the platform.
4.12 Tutor payments are meant solely for lessons, which involve shared learning experiences either online or in person.
5) Student Responsibilities
5.1 A parent or guardian must be present at all times and supervise each lesson for students under 18.
5.2 Students under 18 must verify the credentials, expertise, references, DBS checks, and qualifications of any tutor with whom they intend to enter into a contract.
5.3 Students must contact tutors exclusively through the Academic Plus Ltd website.
5.4 Students are prohibited from booking sessions with tutors outside of the Academic Plus Ltd platform.
5.5 Academic Plus Ltd enforces a zero-tolerance policy for disrespectful behaviour.
5.6 Students are responsible for handling examination entry.
5.7 Students must confirm bookings within specified timeframes, as indicated on the website.
5.8 Payment details are outlined on the website.
5.9 Students agree not to record lessons by any means separate from the Academic Plus Ltd platform.
6) Payment
6.1 The cost of each lesson, known as the “Lesson Fee”, or package, known as the “Package Fee”, will be clearly indicated on the website at the time of booking confirmation.
6.2 The Lesson Fee and Package Fee is comprised of the Tutor Fee and Academic Plus Ltd’s Service Fee, both collected by Stripe on behalf of Academic Plus Ltd.
6.3 By confirming a booking, you authorise Academic Plus Ltd to instruct Stripe to charge your credit or debit before the lessons take place.
6.4 In the event of a complaint, charges may still be processed for refund requests.
6.5 For online lessons, you will be charged the full Lesson Fee if the tutor attends the online classroom for at least 15 minutes from the lesson’s scheduled start time.
6.6 If a lesson is missed because you, the student, didn’t attend, you will be charged the full Lesson Fee with no refund.
6.7 Payment processing services on the Academic Plus Ltd website are provided by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. By accepting these terms and conditions or continuing to operate as a student on Academic Plus Ltd’s website, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Terms, as modified by Stripe from time to time.
7) Discord Community
7.1.1 Academic Plus Ltd operates a group chat community on Discord for tutoring services. These terms and conditions apply to individuals under the age of 18 (referred to as “Minors”) who wish to participate in the Academic Plus Discord community.
7.1.2 Minors must obtain documented approval from a parent or legal guardian (referred to as “Parent/Guardian”) before joining or participating in the Academic Plus Discord community.
7.1.3 Academic Plus reserves the right to request proof of parental or guardian approval, and participation in the community may be denied or revoked if such approval is not provided.
7.2.1 Discord requires users to be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users between 13 and 18 years may use Discord with explicit Parent/Guardian approval.
7.2.2 Academic Plus encourages Parents/Guardians to review Discord’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
7.3.1 Parents/Guardians are solely responsible for monitoring and supervising their Minor’s activities in the Academic Plus Discord community, ensuring compliance with Discord’s terms and these terms and conditions.
7.3.2 Academic Plus is not responsible for actions, interactions, or content created or shared by Minors on Discord.
7.4.1 Minors are expected to adhere to the code of conduct and community guidelines outlined by Academic Plus and Discord.
7.5.1 Academic Plus respects the privacy and safety of all individuals, especially Minors. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to review Academic Plus’s Privacy Policy.
7.5.2 Parents/Guardians should be aware that Discord may collect personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
7.6.1 Academic Plus may communicate with Minors in the Discord community for educational, safety, or administrative purposes.
8) Liabilities, Indemnity, and Disclaimer
8.1 Academic Plus Ltd’s Disclaimer Regarding Content and Third-Party Websites
8.2 Academic Plus Ltd holds no authority over, nor bears responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of any material available on the Academic Plus Ltd Website, whether it is provided by our Members or other sources. The Academic Plus Ltd Website may include links to third-party websites. Please note that Academic Plus Ltd does not endorse these sites or take any responsibility for their content.
8.3 Academic Plus Ltd is not liable for any form of loss or damage incurred by a Member through their use of the Academic Plus Ltd Website. This includes direct, indirect, consequential, or any other type of loss or damage, such as data loss, financial repercussions, or physical harm.
8.4 Members agree to indemnify Academic Plus Ltd against all liabilities, claims, and expenses arising from any breach of these Terms and Conditions or from their use of the Academic Plus Ltd Website.
8.5 Academic Plus Ltd cannot guarantee the availability of a suitable Tutor to meet a Student’s requirements.
8.6 Academic Plus Ltd is not responsible for the academic results achieved by a Student or for any consequences related to examination grades.
9) Promotional Materials
9.1 Academic Plus Ltd may, on occasion, consider using photographs, videos, or digital images of students during online group tuition sessions for the purposes of social media and marketing. Academic Plus Ltd will ensure that students are notified when such usage is planned, enabling them to opt out and not be included in the images. Any student with a permanent preference to never appear in digital images should communicate this request in writing to [email protected].
10) Changes to Terms & Conditions
10.1 Academic Plus Ltd reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at its discretion and without prior notice to students.
